The Lagos State Police Command has revised its earlier directive on movement restrictions for the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025. Movement will now be restricted from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., instead of the previously announced 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. window.
The update was announced on Thursday in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh. This adjustment is aimed at easing movement for residents with urgent medical needs, scheduled appointments, or international travel plans.
“The Lagos State Police Command wishes to inform the general public of an adjustment to the previously announced restriction of vehicular and waterways movement for the Local Government Elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025.
“To alleviate challenges for residents with critical medical emergencies and longstanding travel arrangements, the restriction will now begin at 6:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.” the statement said.
