The Lagos State Government has completed the rehabilitation of the Chevron–Chisco stretch on the Lekki–Epe Expressway, covering three key sections along the busy corridor.
The update was shared by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on X Wednesday.
Lekki–Epe Expressway Rehabilitation
The Lekki–Epe Expressway, which connects Victoria Island, Lekki, and Epe, was initially scheduled for a 64-day rehabilitation across a 20-kilometre stretch from Admiralty to Jubilee Bridge. Work was postponed from November 2025 during the Yuletide season despite contracts being awarded.
The rehabilitation was divided into six sections, with the Chevron–Igbo-Efon, Igbo-Efon–Jakande, and Jakande–Chisco stretches completed in just 16 days—seven days ahead of schedule. The completed sections cover a total of 4.51 kilometres:

Chevron–Igbo-Efon: 1.06 km, completed in 6 days

Igbo-Efon–Jakande: 1.57 km, completed in 8 days

Jakande–Chisco: 1.88 km, completed in 9 days
“The sections were delivered efficiently, reflecting strong coordination and consideration for daily road users,” the government noted.
Traffic Management Plans
To reduce disruptions, traffic management focused on phased lane closures and dynamic lane-sharing systems, particularly during morning peak hours (4 a.m.–12 p.m.).
Key intersections were prioritised while alternative routes were advised, including Coastal Road from Ogombo via Abraham Adesanya, and connecting routes from Eleganza through Orchid Road, Lafiaji, and Naale Street.
Road shoulders were graded to accommodate diverted traffic, and safety measures, signage, and personnel were deployed throughout the project period.
