KPMG Nigeria has announced an opportunity for an experienced professional to join its Family Business, Family Office & Private Client (FBFO & PC) practice, as the firm continues to expand advisory services tailored to wealthy families, entrepreneurs, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs).
The firm is looking to hire a Manager with strong investment management and advisory expertise, who will play a key role in delivering strategic solutions to family-owned enterprises while strengthening KPMG’s footprint within Nigeria’s private wealth ecosystem.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will support the growth of KPMG’s Family Business and Private Client practice by providing advisory services to family businesses and private wealth holders. The role requires a deep understanding of business strategy, governance, succession planning, and the unique dynamics that influence multi-generational family enterprises.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Needs Assessment
- Engage family business owners and key stakeholders to understand their objectives, challenges, and long-term vision
- Apply global and local best practices in family business governance and regulation
- Provide tailored advisory solutions aligned with client priorities
Succession Planning & Leadership Development
- Support the design and implementation of succession planning frameworks
- Identify and develop next-generation leaders within family businesses
- Document succession procedures to ensure continuity, stability, and long-term sustainability
Conflict Resolution & Governance Support
- Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution among family stakeholders
- Help develop family governance frameworks, communication protocols, and dispute-resolution processes
Education & Capacity Building
- Design structured training frameworks and governance policies for family businesses
- Deliver workshops and training sessions to family members and executives
- Build capacity for effective participation in governance and decision-making
Financial & Legal Coordination
- Work closely with legal and financial specialists to ensure regulatory compliance
- Review ownership structures and agreements to improve tax efficiency and asset protection
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, positioning KPMG as a trusted long-term advisor
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction throughout advisory engagements
Research & Thought Leadership
- Monitor trends, innovations, and emerging best practices in family business governance
- Contribute to thought leadership through articles, presentations, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Candidate Requirements
Education
- Minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division from a recognized university
- A master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Law, or a related field is an added advantage
Experience & Skills
- 6–10 years’ experience in strategy, business advisory, or management consulting
- Strong professional network among High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals
- Solid understanding of family business dynamics, including intergenerational and emotional considerations
- Proven experience delivering strategy or business transformation solutions
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and mediation capabilities
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within teams
- Strong ethical standards, professionalism, and commitment to confidentiality
- Willingness to travel as required to support client engagements
