Eko DisCo has commenced the second phase of the Presidential Metering Initiative Meter Acquisition Fund (MAF) Tranche B. This phase is aimed at closing the metering gap across the country.
How to Get Free Prepaid Meters
The free prepaid meter, which is open to all Band A and Band B customers, can be obtained via the following channels:
a. New Customers: Visit webportal.ekedc.com/#/newConnection
b. Existing Customers: To migrate from postpaid to prepaid or replace your damaged or obsolete meter(s), visit webportal.ekedc.com and register (for first time users) or log in to your existing webportal account.
Application Deadline:
The deadline for application is 30th November, 2025. Meter installation will commence from 6th November to 31st December, 2025.
Presidential Metering Initiative Meter Acquisition Fund (MAF)
The Presidential Metering Initiative Meter Acquisition Fund (MAF) Tranche B is the second phase of Nigeria’s federal government-backed programme. It is designed to bridge the metering gap across the country.
Under this scheme, Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) and other DisCos are providing free prepaid meters to eligible customers — specifically those in Bands A and B within their franchise areas.
The initiative aims to:
