Role Overview
The English–French Interpreter will be responsible for facilitating seamless communication during court hearings, legal consultations, and official judicial meetings.
The role demands precision, confidentiality, and strong linguistic competence in both English and French.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide simultaneous and consecutive interpretation in court proceedings
- Support judges, legal officers, and administrative staff
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality of all interpreted content
- Maintain cultural and linguistic appropriateness in translation settings
- Collaborate with legal interpreting teams in high-level judicial environments
Requirements
- Master’s degree or certification in Conference Interpretation
- Minimum of 10 years professional interpreting experience
- At least 4 years in a permanent interpreting role
- Strong fluency in English and French
- Additional ECOWAS language is an advantage
- Strong ethical judgment and cultural awareness
