The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced a major shift in its 2025 recruitment process, scrapping traditional computer-based testing (CBT) for an entirely online format.
The recruitment portal will officially close on Friday, November 7, 2025, while shortlisted applicants will sit for the online test between Wednesday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
In a statement signed by Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) A.M. Jibril, Secretary of the Board, the CDCFIB said this move marks a new phase in the board’s digital transformation drive. “Applicants are to note that the test will be conducted exclusively online. Accordingly, all previously allocated CBT centres are discontinued,” the statement read.

Applicants who earlier selected physical CBT centres are required to revisit recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng to choose a new online test date and time.
The link for the online examination will be published on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, according to the board’s update.
The CDCFIB urged shortlisted candidates to ensure stable internet access and have necessary devices ready for the test. “Applicants are to ensure they have a stable internet connection, necessary devices to take the online test, as well as carefully follow the instructions on the examination slip to avoid disqualification,” the board emphasised.
Reaffirming its stance, Maj. Gen. Jibril said, “The Board wishes to inform the general public that it remains committed to a smooth and transparent recruitment process.” The transition to an online testing system aims to enhance efficiency, fairness, and accessibility for all applicants nationwide.
