Barcelona secured a composed 2–0 victory against Villarreal in LaLiga Round 17, tightening their grip on the title race with an assured performance on the road.
Raphinha opened the scoring early from the penalty spot, putting the visitors in control. Villarreal’s task became tougher before halftime when Ramon Veiga was sent off for a tripping offence, leaving the hosts a man down.
Barça pressed their advantage after the break and doubled the lead through teenage sensation Lamine Yamal, who finished confidently following a smart build-up involving Frenkie de Jong.
