The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is recruiting an Office Manager (GS-7) for its Resident Representative Office in Abuja. The appointment begins in May 2026 under a one-year local contract, renewable for up to three years, subject to performance and institutional need.

This is a senior operational role responsible for the full administration, financial coordination, and institutional functioning of the IMF’s Nigeria office.

About the Organisation

The IMF is a leading multilateral institution focused on macroeconomic stability, financial systems oversight, and fiscal sustainability. Its Resident Representative Office in Nigeria serves as the Fund’s in-country interface with government authorities, civil society, development partners, and the private sector.

The Office Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that the Resident Representative’s programme of work runs efficiently and in compliance with Fund standards.

Role Purpose

The Office Manager has sole responsibility for organising, managing and delivering office support services, working directly with the Head of Office.

The role supports programme objectives by overseeing workflow, administrative systems, financial management, logistics, technology coordination and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

Provide executive support to the Head of Office

Lead administrative systems and supervise support staff

Coordinate travel and logistics for IMF missions

Oversee office IT systems and resolve technology issues

Serve as first point of contact for senior government officials

Manage HR actions including recruitment and performance processes

Administer the office budget, payments and financial controls

Monitor bank accounts and ensure financial compliance

Manage petty cash and support audits

This position requires strong policy interpretation ability, budget systems knowledge and advanced MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications & Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree required

Minimum seven years’ experience in administration, finance, accounting, audit or HR

International institution or public administration experience is an advantage

Fluency in written and spoken English required

Applicants must be Nigerian nationals, residents, or independently able to obtain a valid work permit. The IMF does not sponsor work permits.
