Share Buyback Continues
Airtel Africa has continued the execution of its ongoing share buyback programme with the repurchase of 40,000 ordinary shares, reinforcing its commitment to returning value to shareholders.
In a regulatory disclosure released on Wednesday, the telecommunications and mobile money group said the shares were purchased on 13 January 2026 from Barclays Capital Securities Limited, in line with the authority granted by shareholders and the buyback arrangements announced in September 2025.
The company bought the shares at prices ranging between 355.80 pence and 366.00 pence, with a volume-weighted average price of 359.56 pence. All the repurchased shares will be cancelled.
Following the cancellation, Airtel Africa’s issued share capital will stand at 3.66 billion ordinary shares of USD 0.50 each, including 7.49 million treasury shares, while the total number of voting rights in the company will be approximately 3.65 billion.
