Airtel Africa Reports Strong Q1 2025/2026 Results, Records 269% Surge in Pre-Tax Profit

Airtel Africa Confirms 3.66 Billion Total Voting Rights

Airtel Africa has announced its financial results for Q1 of the 2025/2026 fiscal year, covering the three months ended June 30, 2025. The telecom giants posted a pre-tax profit of $273 million, marking a 269% year-on-year increase.

The result represents 41% of the group’s total pre-tax earnings for the full financial year that ended on March 31, 2025.

Net profit after tax reached $156 million, a 408% increase compared to the same quarter last year. while revenue for the quarter came in at $1.415 billion, reflecting 24.9% growth in constant currency and 22.4% growth in reported currency.

The growth was driven by tariff adjustments, easing currency pressure in Nigeria, and strong performance in Francophone Africa, as the company continues to focus on a customer-centric strategy.

Airtel Africa CEO, Sunil Taldar, expressed satisfaction with the results, stating: “We are very pleased with the strong growth in our operating and financial performance in the first quarter. The scale of this growth reflects sustained demand for our services and the strength of our business model to meet these demands.

Operationally, the acceleration in customer base growth to 9%, and a 17.4% increase in data customers to 75.6 million, reflect strong on-ground execution with a relentless focus on digitisation and simplifying the customer experience.” He concluded.
