Airtel Africa plc has announced plans to appoint Ernst & Young LLP as its external auditor starting with the financial year ending March 31, 2028, following completion of a formal tender process.
The appointment requires shareholder approval at the company’s 2027 Annual General Meeting, according to a press release statement.
Deloitte will remain as the Group’s external auditor for the financial years ending March 31, 2026 and March 31, 2027. The latter appointment is also subject to shareholder approval.

The Board thanked Deloitte for its service as the Group’s auditor and acknowledged the other firms that participated in the tender process. The transition marks a planned rotation that underscores the company’s adherence to governance best practices and may reassure investors about the robustness of its financial oversight.
