Access Bank Plc has vested 5,502,183 company shares in its Deputy Managing Director for Retail South, Chizoma Okoli, under its Restricted Shares Performance Plan.

Based on the current stock price as of November 10, 2025, the shares are valued at approximately ₦121,048,026, underscoring a major reward for executive performance and leadership excellence.

The vesting represents not only a financial milestone but also a vote of confidence in Okoli’s contribution to the bank’s long-term success. It aligns with Access Holdings Plc’s broader executive incentive strategy designed to attract, retain, and motivate top talent within the group’s leadership ranks.

From Law to Leadership

Chizoma Okoli’s professional story began at the University of Benin, where she earned her Law degree in 1989 before being called to the Nigerian Bar in December 1990.

Her career soon took a turn toward business when she pursued an MBA at Warwick Business School in the United Kingdom, a move that laid the groundwork for her rise in the banking sector.

Her entry into banking started in April 1992 when she joined Diamond Bank Plc as an Executive Trainee in the Operations Unit. Over time, her commitment and strategic insight propelled her upward through various leadership positions, shaping her reputation as one of Nigeria’s top female banking executives.

Rise at Diamond Bank

Okoli’s career reached a defining moment in September 2016 when she was appointed Executive Director of Business Development at Diamond Bank. In that role, she led efforts that expanded the bank’s reach and improved customer engagement across key markets, driving innovative service delivery in Nigeria’s competitive financial landscape.

Her leadership at Diamond Bank proved instrumental when the 2019 merger with Access Bank Plc took place. The integration gave her a larger platform to implement her strategic vision within the newly formed Access Bank, a subsidiary of Access Holdings Plc.

Leading Retail Growth at Access Bank

As Deputy Managing Director for Retail South, Okoli now oversees retail banking operations across southern Nigeria. Her focus on customer-centric innovations and financial inclusion has reinforced Access Bank’s position as a market leader in retail banking.

Under her leadership, the bank has introduced solutions that support individuals and small businesses. Her work reflects Access Bank’s mission to make banking more inclusive and sustainable across all regions of Nigeria.
