Academic Staff Requirements

Professor (RUASS 7)

Applicants should possess a PhD degree from a reputable university with specialisation in the discipline applied for, with evidence of academic leadership in terms of substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals in the related field of study, administrative experience and so on, with at least 12 years post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience.

Proven ability to attract research grants/fellowships over the years.

Professional qualifications in the relevant field of study are required.

Reader (RUASS 6)

Same as for Professor, but with at least 9 years of post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience at the University level.

Senior Lecturer (RUASS 5)

Applicants should possess a PhD degree from a reputable university in the discipline applied for, with evidence of academic leadership in terms of substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals in the related field of study, administrative experience and so on, with at least 6 years post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience.

Lecturer I (RUASS 4)

Applicants should possess a PhD degree from a reputable university with at least three (3) years post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience in a university and evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals.

Applicants should possess a PhD degree from a reputable university with post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience in a university and evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals.

Research Fellow II (RUASS 3)

Applicants should possess a research-based Master’s degree with at least one (1) year, full-time post-qualification experience.

He/She must possess a Master’s degree result that qualifies for a PhD degree in the relevant discipline and must have registered for the degree in a reputable university.

Deputy Registrar I (RUHSS 15)

Candidate must have a good honours degree (not below second-class lower division) and a Master’s degree with at least 18 years of post-qualification administrative or professional experience, with a minimum of 10 years at management level.

He/She must have been a Deputy Registrar in the Registry of a University for a minimum of 4 years.

In addition, must be a duly registered member of ANUPA, ICSAN, NIM, CIPM or any other recognised equivalent.

Deputy Registrar II (RUHSS 14)

Candidate must have a good honours degree (not below second-class lower division) and a Master’s degree with at least 15 years of post-qualification administrative or professional experience.

Deputy Bursar II (RUHSS 14)

Candidate must have a good honours degree in Accounting (not below second-class lower division) and a Master’s degree with at least 15 years of post-qualification professional experience, six (6) of which must be in a University.

In addition, must be a duly registered member of ICAN or any other recognised equivalent.

Accountant II (RUHSS 7)

Candidate must have a good honours degree in Accounting or any other related discipline (not below second-class lower division) from a recognised University.

Membership of a relevant professional institution is an added advantage.

Executive Officer (RUHSS 6)

Candidate must have National Diploma with a minimum of lower credit in Accountancy or other relevant professional qualifications.

Candidate must possess a good honours degree and a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and be a registered Chartered Accountant, plus at least 15 years post-qualification experience, six years of which must have been in a University system.

The candidate must have been a Deputy Director of Internal Audit in a University for a minimum of four (4) years.

Candidate must have a good honours degree in Accounting (not below second-class lower division) and a Master’s degree with at least 15 years of post-qualification professional experience.

Candidate must possess a B.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering or related subject plus at least 3 years post-qualification experience.

Quantity Surveyor I (RUHSS 08)

Candidate must possess a B.Sc. degree in Quantity Surveying or related subject plus at least 3 years post-qualification experience.

Also, a pass in the final examination of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors plus at least 3 years pupilage programme.

Candidate must possess a degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or in Geography with Mathematics as a subsidiary subject and he/she must have completed a two-year pupilage programme.

Nursing Officer I (RUHESS 08)

Candidates must possess a good honours degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) in Nursing Science from a recognised University and possession of professional certificate NRN or SCRN Certificate Registered Nurse with double qualifications of NRN & NRM.

Radiographer (RUHESS 7)

Candidate must possess a good honours degree in Radiography or Radiological Sciences registerable with the fellowship of Society of Radiographers or its equivalent.

Sonographer (RUHESS 7)

Candidate must possess a good honours degree in Public Health, Health Education and other relevant course registrable with recognised similar regulatory agencies.

Candidate must possess certificate of registration of the Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology for Technicians, and be an associate member of the Association of Medical Technicians.

Candidate must possess certificate of registration of the Environmental Health Technology for Technicians, and be an associate member of the Association of Medical Technicians.

Quantity Surveying

Director, Quantity Surveying (RUHSS 15)

Candidate must possess a good honours degree and Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying and be a registered surveyor, plus at least 16 years post-qualification experience, six years of which must have been in a University system.

The candidate must have been a Deputy Director of Works in a University for a minimum of four (4) years.
