Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has increased the price of Premium Motor Spirit, popularly known as petrol, from N1,185 to N1,200 per litre. The latest adjustment, which took effect on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, represents a N15 increase in the refinery’s gantry price.
The refinery, on Tuesday, announced the new price which comes days after the refinery raised its petrol price from N1,165 to N1,185 per litre in a notice sent to its customers by its Group Commercial Operations on Tuesday.
The communication, titled, ‘PMS Price Change Communication (₦1,185 Per Litre To ₦1,200 Per Litre)’, informed customers of the revised prices for gantry and coastal deliveries.
According to the price table contained in the notice, the coastal price was increased from N1,562,265 per metric tonne to N1,582,380 per metric tonne. Customers were directed to return existing Authorisation to Collect documents for repricing before new volume contracts could be issued.
The refinery stated, “You are advised to return all ATCs for repricing, and a new volume contract will be issued for immediate loading resumption. Should you require any further clarification, please do not hesitate to contact us.”

Crude oil prices dipped earlier today following news reports about Iran and Oman renewing their talks about joint management of the Strait of Hormuz, as those reports were taken to mean the waterway could soon reopen for normal traffic.
It was reported that the two were discussing “a joint temporary navigational corridor” and clearing the strait of mines. As a result, Brent crude was trading at $86.39 per barrel at the time of writing, with West Texas Intermediate at $80.52 per barrel at the time of writing.
