Key Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Business Development
Lead relationship management for a portfolio of Nigerian and West African corporates and multinational subsidiaries.
Originate new revenue opportunities across lending, DCM, treasury services, FX and trade.
Drive proposal development, structuring and transaction execution.
Credit & Risk Management
Lead bank financing origination and execution, including:
Due diligence
Contract negotiation
Internal credit approvals
Act as first line of defence for credit quality monitoring.
Maintain strong AML, KYC and compliance standards.
Cross-Border Collaboration
Partner with:
Investment banking teams
Product specialists (Payments, FX, Trade)
Risk and control teams
Global HQ relationship bankers
Coordinate multi-country, multi-product solutions.
Revenue & Profitability
Drive revenue growth with disciplined risk-return metrics.
Monitor cost efficiency and improve profitability across the portfolio.
Ensure seamless onboarding and client lifecycle management.
Required Profile
Experience
Proven corporate banking experience in Nigeria or West Africa.
Track record of winning mandates and closing transactions.
Experience managing multi-country client relationships.
Product Expertise
Deep familiarity with:
Bank loans and syndicated facilities
Debt capital markets
FX and rates
Derivatives and structured products
Payments and treasury services
Trade finance
Skills & Capabilities
Strong commercial judgement.
High-level negotiation and influencing skills.
Ability to operate across cultures and jurisdictions.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong quantitative and analytical capability.
Additional Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
Fluency in English (French advantageous).
Willingness to travel regionally and internationally.
