As of October 20, 2025, the Nigerian Naira’s exchange rates against major currencies showed mixed movements across different market segments, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) LemFi and Remitly.
In the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM), the naira gained 0.20% to close at N1,471/$ on October 17, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
In the International Money Transfer Operators (IMTO), data sourced from platforms like LemFi and Remitly, revealed the naira strengthened against the dollar by 1.15% to N1,474/$ on October 20, from N1,491/$ on October 17.

The naira strengthened against the Great British Pound by 0.91% to N1,982 per GBP, while the naira appreciated against the Euro by 0.29% to N1,736 from N1,741.
The naira strengthened against the CAD by 1.14%, reaching N1,051 from N1,063.
Meanwhile, foreign reserves stood at $42.682 billion as of October 16, a slight increase from $42.670 billion on October 15, maintaining overall stability.
