UBA Announces 25 Kobo Interim Dividend for H1 2025, Figure Represents Decline From H1 2024

UBA H1 2025 dividend

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has declared an interim dividend of 25 kobo per 50 kobo ordinary share for the half-year period ended June 30, 2025.

The payout, which is subject to applicable withholding tax, will be made to shareholders. This applies to those whose names appear in the Register of Members at the close of business on Friday, October 3, 2025.

According to the bank, the Register of Members will be closed on Monday, October 6, 2025. This is to enable the processing of qualified shareholders. Payment is scheduled for Friday, October 10, 2025. It will be made electronically to shareholders who have completed the e-dividend registration process and mandated the Registrar to pay their dividends directly into their bank accounts.

UBA urged shareholders who are yet to complete their e-dividend registration to download the E-Dividend Mandate Form from www.africaprudential.com, complete it, and submit to the Registrar, any UBA branch, or their respective banks.

Alternatively, completed forms can be scanned and sent by email to cxc@africaprudential.com or investorrelations@ubagroup.com. The bank also reminded shareholders with unclaimed dividend warrants or share certificates to regularize their records. This can be done through the e-dividend registration process or by contacting the Registrar for further assistance.

UBA’s Dividend Decline From 2024

In the first half of 2024, UBA declared a much larger interim dividend of N2.00 per share (for every 50 kobo share). This was following strong financial performance, including a 40% jump in earnings and growth in gross income to N1.37 trillion.

By contrast, the 2025 interim dividend announced is only 25 kobo per share which can be attributed to  harsher economic conditions, including inflation, tighter foreign exchange, and declining consumer demand.
