Xiaomi has officially rolled out its latest smartphone lineup, the REDMI Note 15 Series, into the Nigerian market, reinforcing its focus on durability, long battery life, and artificial intelligence-driven features designed for everyday users.
The launch event, held in Lagos on Tuesday, introduced three new models — REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G, REDMI Note 15 5G, and REDMI Note 15.
According to Xiaomi, the devices were built to meet the demands of Nigerian consumers who prioritize performance, resilience, and smart technology in a single smartphone.
Engineered for Tough Conditions and Long-Lasting Power
Xiaomi highlighted the physical strength of the REDMI Note 15 Series, unveiling what it describes as REDMI Titan Durability — a structural design that includes reinforced frames, shock-absorbing layers, and advanced protection against dust and water.
The flagship REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is equipped with a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery supported by 100W HyperCharge, allowing rapid charging and extended daily use.
All models in the lineup also support reverse charging, enabling users to power other devices directly from their phones.
The Pro+ 5G variant has received SGS Premium Performance Certification, with Xiaomi stating that the phone can withstand drops from heights of up to 2.5 meters and remain underwater at depths of 2 meters for up to 24 hours.
The device also features Wet Touch 2.0, ensuring touchscreen responsiveness even when exposed to moisture.
In terms of protection standards, the REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, placing it among the most water- and dust-resistant smartphones currently available.
TÜV SÜD certification further confirms its endurance, supported by 17 precision-engineered waterproof components. The REDMI Note 15 Pro and standard Note 15 also offer enhanced resistance to splashes, dust, and harsh environmental conditions.
Advanced Camera System Powered by AI
Photography is a major focus of the new series. The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G debuts a 200-megapixel ultra-high-resolution camera, built on a large 1/1.4-inch image sensor.
Xiaomi says the system delivers optical-level zoom, improved HDR performance, and AI-assisted image processing for clearer photos in both bright and low-light conditions.
The Pro models feature a multi-focal camera setup ranging from 23mm to 92mm, while the standard REDMI Note 15 includes a 108MP camera with optical-level telephoto capabilities. AI tools embedded in the devices enable smarter portraits, enhanced image editing, and simplified content creation.
Performance, Display, and Connectivity Upgrades
The REDMI Note 15 Pro+ 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with Xiaomi’s IceLoop cooling system for sustained performance.
Other models use optimized Snapdragon and MediaTek chipsets focused on energy efficiency.
All variants support Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi’s AI-driven features, while offline communication technology allows voice transmission even without mobile network coverage.
The Pro+ 5G also includes the Surge T1S tuner, designed to improve Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and mobile signal strength.
Display sizes range from 6.77 inches to 6.83 inches, offering peak brightness levels of up to 3,200 nits and multiple eye-comfort certifications.
Audio performance has also been upgraded, with Xiaomi claiming sound output increases of up to 400% on the Pro+ model compared to previous generations.
Availability in Nigeria
The REDMI Note 15 Series is now available nationwide through authorized Xiaomi retail partners, including Slot, Finet, Raya, 3C Hub, and other outlets. Consumers can also purchase the devices online via Jumia.
