About the Prize
Established in 2016, the UNESCO Prize for Girls’ and Women’s Education is the first of its kind dedicated exclusively to promoting gender equality through education.
It highlights impactful projects that improve learning access, empower women and girls, and enhance their quality of life.
Funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, the Prize celebrates transformative initiatives that address educational disparities and foster inclusive and sustainable development.

Selection Process
The laureates are selected through a rigorous and transparent process:
