Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russia is seeking to expand its war beyond Ukraine as he appealed for more military aid at the UN General Assembly on Wednesday. “Ukraine is only the first, and now Russian drones are already flying across Europe,” Zelensky told world leaders, referencing recent Russian drone incursions into Polish and Estonian airspace. “Russian operations are already spreading across countries, and Putin wants to continue this war by expanding it. No one can feel safe right now.” He said. Also Read:Zelensky-Trump Clash: The worst diplomatic encounter in American history?Trump Calls Zelensky a Dictator After Ukrainian President Suggested American Counterpart…Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine may Drive a Wedge Between the West and AfricaU.S. Halts Military Aid to Ukraine After Trump-Zelenskyy Oval Office Clash His remarks came shortly after US President Donald Trump declared that Kyiv could win “all of Ukraine back in its original form.” Writing on Truth Social, Trump described Russia’s military as a “paper tiger” and urged Ukraine to act swiftly to reclaim occupied territories. In his UN address, Zelensky also announced that Ukraine would begin exporting weapons to allies. “The facts are simple, stopping this war… is cheaper than building underground kindergartens or massive bunkers for critical infrastructure later,” he said. Highlighting the effectiveness of Ukrainian-made drones, he added: “We do not have those long, heavy missiles that dictators like to show off on parade. But we do have drones capable of flying two to three thousand kilometres. We simply had no other choice, we had to protect our lives.” “We are ready to make our modern weapons become your modern security,” Zelensky continued. “ Ukraine has decided to open up arms export. And these are powerful systems tested in a real war when every international institution failed.” Zelensky’s speech comes a day after US president Donald Trump made a stunning change to his stance on the war in favor of Ukraine, a move that surprised Zelensky himself.
