U.S. President Donald Trump declared on Friday that there would be no agreement with Iran except through “unconditional surrender,” escalating tensions in the region following his recent announcement of military action involving Israel against Tehran.
In a social media post, Trump said that after Iran’s compliance and the selection of what he described as “a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s),” the U.S. and its allies would work to stabilize the country and revitalize its economy. “We, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction,” he wrote.
This statement comes amid heightened geopolitical friction in the Middle East, with analysts warning that such rhetoric could further destabilize an already volatile region.
