Social Media Influencer VeryDarkMan Issues Apology After Onboard Altercation with Comedian Mr Jollof

Prominent online personality Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly expressed regret over a heated exchange with comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, popularly called Mr Jollof, that occurred during a United Nigeria Airlines flight. The incident led to a brief delay for fellow travelers.

In a video shared on his Instagram account on Tuesday, Otse accepted complete accountability for the disruption, emphasizing that such an event was entirely preventable. “I deeply regret what transpired on the United Nigeria Airlines flight yesterday. It was an avoidable situation, and I own up to my role in it,” he stated.

He highlighted the potential impact on other passengers, noting that many might have had urgent commitments affected by the hold-up.

“Numerous individuals on board had critical appointments—perhaps medical issues or key business deals. That short delay could have had significant consequences for them, and for that, I’m truly sorry,” Otse added.

Extending his remorse to a broad audience, the influencer addressed everyone from parents and elders to younger passengers, along with the flight’s pilot and cabin staff. Reflecting on the matter, he admitted his actions fell short of responsible behavior.

“In hindsight, I dislike how I handled it. While some online viewers might see it as lighthearted drama, it was irresponsible on my part,” he confessed.

Although Otse did not vow that similar conflicts would never recur, he committed to ensuring they wouldn’t take place in shared public environments that could inconvenience others.

“I can’t promise it won’t happen elsewhere, but I can assure you it won’t occur on flights, buses, or any setting that hinders people’s journeys. I’m genuinely apologetic for the incident,” he concluded.

Reports indicate that both VeryDarkMan and Mr Jollof could potentially face legal action stemming from the onboard clash that happened on Monday.

This development comes amid ongoing discussions about accountability among public figures in digital spaces.
