Jannik Sinner clinched back-to-back ATP Finals titles with a gritty 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 victory over Carlos Alcaraz in front of a raucous home crowd in Turin, Italy.
The world No. 2 Italian remained flawless throughout the tournament, not surrendering a single set en route to his triumph.
Sinner, 24, extended his indoor hard-court winning streak to an astonishing 31 matches and capped off 2025 with a 15-game unbeaten run across his last three events.
This win marked his second success against Alcaraz in six finals this year, narrowing their overall head-to-head to 10-6 in favor of the Spaniard.
The pair have owned the men’s tennis landscape in 2025, scooping up all four Grand Slams and a total of 14 titles between them.
Alcaraz, 22, claimed the French Open in a dramatic comeback from two sets down, plus victories in Rome, Cincinnati, and the US Open.
Sinner countered with wins at Wimbledon and now the season-ending showdown.
Speaking on court, Sinner paid tribute to his rival: “Carlos pushes me to my limits every time. I’m already excited for more epic clashes in 2026.” He takes home over $5 million in prize money.
Alcaraz, who battled a strapped right thigh after mid-match treatment, responded in kind: “Congrats on an amazing year, Jannik. Enjoy the break – I’ll be coming for you next season.”
Despite a three-month doping suspension earlier in the year, Sinner still notched six titles, reaching the final in 10 of his 12 tournaments.
He joins an elite group as the fourth man this century to defend the ATP Finals crown, alongside Lleyton Hewitt, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.
The final stayed deadlocked early, with no break points until the 12th game of the first set.
Sinner saved a set point with a booming second serve, then raced through the tie-break on the back of Alcaraz backhand mishaps and some audacious lobs.
Alcaraz broke first in the second set courtesy of two Sinner double faults, but the Italian immediately responded in the sixth game.
He fended off another break point in the seventh amid roaring support, then pounced in the 12th: a sizzling backhand down the line set up deuce, and two Alcaraz errors sealed the deal.
Sinner collapsed in celebration as the arena erupted.
Though Alcaraz locked up the year-end No. 1 ranking two days prior, Sinner declared this “the perfect way to finish 2025.”
With both stars in their early 20s, expect the ‘Sincaraz’ saga to intensify further.
