Seplat Energy NGX share price

Seplat Energy Plc on Tuesday made history on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), becoming the first listed stock to close above the ₦6,000 mark, following strong buying interest that pushed its share price to the maximum allowable daily gain.

Trading data from the NGX showed that Seplat Energy closed at ₦6,171 per share on January 7, 2026, representing a gain of ₦561 or 10 per cent from its previous close of ₦5,610.

The stock opened the session at ₦5,610 and rallied steadily during the trading day to hit the upper price limit. Market analysts attributed the rally to renewed confidence in Seplat’s growth prospects, supported by its expanding asset base and the increase in Heirs Energies stake in the company.

The company’s dual listing on the NGX and the London Stock Exchange has also continued to attract both domestic and foreign portfolio investors seeking exposure to upstream energy assets.
