The husband of popular Nollywood star Regina Daniels has revealed a troubling pattern of harassment, drug-enabled sabotage of his wife’s rehabilitation, and repeated invasions of his home by her brother Sammy and other family members.
The incidents, often captured on video, highlight aggressive confrontations targeting his children, domestic staff, and security personnel—typically occurring in his absence.
The man, who has financially supported Regina’s family extensively, claims to have sponsored Sammy through his final two years at the University of Ekpoma.
This included purchasing musical instruments, renting and furnishing an apartment for him in Abuja, and buying a house in Asaba for Regina and her relatives prior to their marriage.
He also provided regular allowances to the entire family, including Regina’s mother, Rita Daniel, with records showing ₦125 million transferred to her in the past two years alone.
Regina’s rehabilitation began after noticeable behavioral shifts tied to substance dependence, such as prolonged sleeplessness (up to 48 hours) and irregular eating patterns.
Medical professionals issued strict guidelines limiting access to enablers, but Sammy, sibling Destiny, other brothers and sisters, and friends like Sonia Uche Montana repeatedly violated these rules.
They allegedly entered the home uninvited—sometimes forcibly—and supplied the very drugs Regina was trying to quit, undermining therapy sessions and encouraging her addiction.
Notably, several individuals in this circle, including Lawrence, Sammy, his girlfriend NK, Destiny, and Sonia, reportedly shared the same substances.
Lawrence and Sammy are accused of initially introducing and providing the drugs to Regina. The husband, a teetotaler and vegetarian who abstains from alcohol and smoking, described these influences as “reprehensible and totally unacceptable.”
A recent episode unfolded just four weeks ago: Waking at 5 a.m., he found Regina in his room, visibly intoxicated and on the phone—a violation of house rules. She revealed Sammy’s girlfriend was occupying her room.
Alarmed, as the girlfriend was a known enabler, he arranged for her departure via a driver. Half an hour later, Sammy arrived in a rage, demanding a confrontation and asserting authority over who could be in the home.
His threats disturbed the household, including the children, forcing security to eject him physically. The husband questioned whether such boldness was possible without drug influence.
The group allegedly escalated by verbally abusing and intimidating on-site police officers enforcing access restrictions.
Regina herself turned hostile toward staff and security when denied outings in her husband’s absence, using threats and profanity.
Two overnight absences stand out: In one, Regina returned at 9 a.m. after a nightclub outing with “Cassie,” a purported supplier staying at Regina’s Life Camp residence.
The husband personally intervened to remove Cassie, viewing her presence as a mockery of the therapy. On the children’s birthday, Regina stayed out until 5 p.m. the next day after dining with Nollywood colleagues, citing a “celebrity lifestyle” akin to two famous pop stars—a justification echoed by her mother.
The husband expressed profound frustration at family members thwarting his efforts to aid Regina’s recovery, creating a home environment of constant tension and fear.
A pivotal incident involved Sammy and siblings storming the property, assaulting staff and security, removing Regina, and filming a video posted online the following day.
They allegedly took items including a phone, cash, and valuables—all staged in the husband’s absence, with children present.
He denied any violence on his part, calling claims of sending thugs to another location “blatantly false.” The viral clip, shot by Regina’s sister and a friend outside his gate, was labeled a “pure Nollywood scenario.”
Sammy is urged to pursue an independent life and music career. The husband previously funded brother Lawrence’s London master’s program with $70,000 to distance him from local drug influences and offered Sammy the same, which was declined.
Sammy has faced multiple arrests by police and the EFCC, with increasingly violent behavior signaling a need for comprehensive rehabilitation.
This account underscores a husband’s battle to protect his family amid alleged sabotage, calling for professional intervention to break the cycle of destruction.
