Samsung will launch the Galaxy S26 Ultra in early 2026 with two model numbers currently listed: SM-S948B and SM-S948U, which align with Samsung’s naming conventions and prior leaked details for the S26 Ultra.
Samsung is expected to host a Galaxy Unpacked event in late January 2026, at which the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra are expected to be launched.
Galaxy S26 Ultra Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to be Samsung’s most advanced flagship smartphone, featuring a premium, durable design with IP68 water and dust resistance and an integrated S-Pen. It is rumored to sport a large 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, and peak brightness approaching 3,000 nits, protected by the latest Gorilla Armor glass.
Powering the device is expected to be Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB up to 1TB using UFS 4.0 technology. The camera system is likely to remain a key highlight, led by a 200-megapixel main sensor, supported by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with around 5× optical zoom, and an additional telephoto lens for mid-range zoom, while the front camera is expected to be 12 megapixels.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra is also rumored to include a battery of around 5,000–5,200mAh with faster wired charging of up to about 60W, along with wireless and reverse wireless charging. It is expected to ship with Android 16 and One UI 8, offering long-term software and security updates, alongside flagship connectivity features such as 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, NFC, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
