The Digital Impact Alliance (DIAL) is hiring a Program Manager, Country Engagement to oversee and coordinate high-impact digital development programs across multiple African countries.

This is a remote full-time role open to professionals based in Uganda, Kenya, Benin, Senegal, or Nigeria (strongly preferred).

Job Overview – Program Manager, Country Engagement

The Program Manager (PM) will:

  • Oversee multiple country programs across Africa
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Translate strategic priorities into executable program plans
  • Support senior leadership by managing day-to-day operations
  • Strengthen systems, processes, and accountability across projects

You will act as a key operational partner to the senior leader overseeing the Africa portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Project Implementation & Learning

  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple country programs
  • Develop workplans, scopes, milestones, and timelines
  • Track deliverables and proactively address risks
  • Coordinate across technical, finance, MEL, and operations teams
  • Maintain tracking tools for budgets, progress, and risks
  • Support donor and internal reporting
  • Monitor burn rates and forecast spending

Support to Senior Leadership – Africa Portfolio

  • Serve as a trusted operational partner
  • Prepare briefs, summaries, and planning materials
  • Support events, conferences, and study tours logistics
  • Translate strategy into clear operational priorities

Systems & Capacity Building

  • Improve program management tools and templates
  • Promote accountability and continuous improvement
  • Coach project leads on planning and execution

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in:
    • International Development
    • Public Policy
    • IT
    • Development Economics
    • Related field
  • 5–7 years professional experience in international development
  • 3–5 years in program management of complex projects
  • Experience in matrixed organizations (advantage)
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint) and program management tools
  • Ability to manage competing priorities independently

Remote (Africa-based)

Strong preference for candidates in:

  • Nigeria

Travel required occasionally.
Work visa/relocation support is not provided.

Salary & Benefits

Annual Salary: $85,000 – $95,000
