UK to Overhaul Prison System
UK Justice Secretary David Lammy has called the “spike” in mistaken releases “unacceptable”.
“We’re modernising prison systems – replacing paper with digital tools to cut errors,” he says, adding that the government is working with police to recapture Brahim Kaddour-Cherif.” He said.
It would be recalled that last week an Ethiopian accused of sexually harrassing a minor was also mistakenly released by the police before he was eventually recaptured and deported.
