The Honourable Minister of Defence, H.E. Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, CON, mni, today formally received the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, along with the incoming service chiefs at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Abuja.
The delegation included:

During the courtesy visit, Minister Badaru congratulated the military leaders on their appointments and urged them to build on the achievements of their predecessors in tackling insecurity and strengthening national defence.
He emphasized the Federal Government’s full support for the armed forces, stressing the need for synergy among the services to address emerging security challenges across the country.
In his remarks, General Musa expressed gratitude for the warm reception and pledged the commitment of the new leadership to enhance operational effectiveness, troop welfare, and inter-service collaboration.
The meeting underscored the administration’s resolve to equip and reposition the Nigerian military for greater efficiency in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The appointments, recently confirmed by the presidency, signal a renewed push to consolidate gains in counter-terrorism, maritime security, and internal stability operations.
