The Federal Government has disbursed fresh education credits for the 2025/2026 academic session, benefiting thousands of undergraduates and student-teachers across the country.
According to official records, four institutions received funding this month to cover tuition and academic fees:
- University of Benin (UNIBEN): ₦230,599,250 was released for 2,673 students, covering multiple tranches paid on January 5 and 15, 2026.
- Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU): ₦1,197,495,000 was provided for 5,613 students on January 19, 2026.
- Kashim Ibrahim University, Maiduguri: ₦69,912,300 was allocated for 1,322 students as part of the third batch, disbursed on January 20, 2026.
- Kaduna State College of Education, Gidan-Waya: ₦31,335,500 reached 479 students in the first batch, released on January 13, 2026.
In total, 10,087 students are set to continue their studies without concerns over tuition this semester, ensuring uninterrupted academic progress.

Education stakeholders have welcomed the disbursements, describing them as a significant step in promoting access to higher education and supporting student welfare nationwide.
