Popular gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has delivered a stern admonition to married men who secretly pursue relationships with younger women, warning that such behaviour could lead to grave consequences.
The cleric made the remarks during a recent church service that gained widespread attention on social media on Wednesday.
In his message, Bassey condemned the act of married men presenting themselves as single in order to engage in sexual or romantic relationships outside their marriages.

According to him, men who deliberately conceal their marital status, deceive young women, and lure them into hotels under false pretences risk public disgrace and severe repercussions.
Bassey declared that such actions would not go unchecked, stating that offenders could face consequences so serious that they would become publicly exposed and remembered for years.
“If you are a married man going around deceiving young girls, leading them on and sleeping with them, you are inviting trouble,” he said.
“If you try it this year, you won’t survive it. Your shame will be public. It will be on social media. If you take a woman to a hotel while lying about your marriage, you may not come out of that hotel.”
He added that his warning should not be taken lightly, stressing that moral recklessness often attracts consequences beyond what people anticipate.
The gospel minister also addressed women who knowingly engage in relationships with married men, especially when such relationships are driven by financial gain, gifts, or material benefits.
According to Bassey, women who consciously ignore the marital status of such men out of greed or desire for luxury are equally culpable.
“If you know a man is married and you still go ahead because of money, attention, expensive wigs, or handbags, you are also playing with danger,” he warned.
The video of the sermon has since sparked intense reactions online, with many social media users debating the tone and severity of the message, while others praised the cleric for addressing marital infidelity and moral responsibility in strong terms.
Nathaniel Bassey, known for his gospel music and pastoral work, frequently speaks on issues of faith, morality, and personal accountability during his teachings.
