The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has slashed the 2026 Hajj fares for intending pilgrims, offering significant savings compared to 2025 rates. The commission said the adjustments aim to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of next year’s Hajj exercise.
Pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, down from ₦8,327,125.59 in 2025, marking a reduction of ₦748,104.63.
The Northern Zone fare is now ₦7,696,769.76, a drop of ₦760,915.83 from last year’s ₦8,457,685.59. Southern Zone pilgrims will pay ₦7,991,141.76, down ₦792,943.83 from ₦8,784,085.59.
NAHCON announced December 5, 2025, as the payment deadline for all intending pilgrims. “Intending pilgrims are advised to complete their payments on or before the stated deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation in the 2026 Hajj,” the commission said in a photostatement posted on X.
Earlier President Bola Tinubu, through Deputy Chief of Staff Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, directed NAHCON to immediately reduce the previously announced fares. The commission had initially set the 2026 fares in September before the directive.
For more details, NAHCON urged the public to visit its official website at www.nahcon.gov.ng. The new fare structure reflects the government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on Nigerian pilgrims.
