Microsoft has launched a reimagined Microsoft Marketplace, combining Azure Marketplace and Microsoft AppSource into a single destination for businesses to find, try, buy, and deploy cloud solutions, AI apps, and agents.

The revamped platform, which is already available in the United States and will roll out globally soon, is positioned as an extension of the Microsoft Cloud.

The new Marketplace hosts tens of thousands of cloud and industry solutions across categories such as data and analytics, productivity, collaboration, and sector-specific offerings. According to the company, the platform is designed to simplify cloud and AI adoption, with all purchases of Azure benefit–eligible solutions continuing to count toward Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitments.

A key feature is the addition of over 3,000 AI apps and agents, which integrate with products including Azure AI Foundry and Microsoft 365 Copilot. These offerings, Microsoft says, allow organisations to automate tasks and accelerate decision-making.

“With Microsoft Marketplace, we reduced the configuration time of AI apps from nearly 20 minutes to just 1 minute per instance. That efficiency boost has translated into increased productivity and lower operating costs. Marketplace is a strategic channel for Siemens, where we’ve seen an 8X increase in customer adoption. It’s a powerful platform for scaling both sides of our business,” said Jeff Zobrist, Vice President for Global Partner Ecosystem and Go To Market at Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Whole Value Chain

Microsoft has also emphasized integration with its channel ecosystem, allowing customers to procure solutions either directly or through trusted partners. Technology distributors including Arrow, Crayon, Ingram Micro, Pax8, and TD SYNNEX are already linking their platforms to Marketplace, extending customer reach.

“We’re incredibly excited about the path forward with Microsoft. This integration with the Marketplace catalog is just the beginning — we see endless potential to co-innovate and help customers navigate their AI-first transformation with confidence,” said Melissa Mulholland, Co-CEO of SoftwareOne and Crayon.

For IT teams, Marketplace solutions are embedded within Microsoft products to streamline deployment and governance. Copilot agents, for instance, can be accessed through the Agent Store in Microsoft 365, while apps integrate directly into Teams and models can be deployed in Azure AI Foundry.

Microsoft says the new Marketplace is central to its efforts to support partner growth, with tools such as multiparty private offers, CSP integration, and a new resale-enabled offers feature, now in private preview, designed to open new routes to market.
