Engr. Elozino Olaniyan was recently appointed as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Midwestern Oil and Gas, effective December 1, 2025.
She is a distinguished Nigerian energy industry leader with over 30 years of experience in upstream operations, corporate strategy, stakeholder management, safety, and environmental sustainability. Engr. Elozino Olaniyan holds a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin in Edo state.
A Shell alumnus, she holds numerous professional designations including FNSE (Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers), FNSChE (Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers), and FNISafetyE (Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Safety Engineers).
Storied Career
She previously served as an Integrator and in various C-Suite Roles at Shell Nigeria (Deepwater Portfolio) where she championed well optimization for Bonga reservoirs. She also managed hydrocarbon resource reporting and business planning for 5+ years.
From there, she moved to Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo) serving as General Manager, Safety and Environment where she oversaw safety protocols; and represented Shell at events like the 2024 investiture of the first female NSE President, Margaret Aina Oguntala.
She moved to Renaissance Africa Energy Company Ltd. in 2024 where she led operational efficiency reforms and environmental sustainability initiatives, improving performance metrics as General Manager, Safety & Environment.
Recent Appointment at Midwestern Oil and Gas
On November 16, 2025, Midwestern Oil & Gas Company Limited a leading indigenous Nigerian exploration and production firm announced Olaniyan’s historic appointment as the company’s first female CEO in its 26-year history.
In her statement, Olaniyan emphasized operational discipline, transparency, and sustainable growth benefiting stakeholders. She aims to drive long-term value creation and amplify Midwestern’s role in Nigeria’s energy transition.
