Manchester City Survive Late Fulham Surge in Nine-Goal Thriller

Manchester City edged Fulham 5–4 in a dramatic Premier League showdown on Tuesday night, surviving a spirited second-half comeback from the hosts at Craven Cottage.

City appeared to be cruising after racing into a 3–0 lead before halftime, with Erling Haaland, Tijjani Reijnders and Phil Foden all finding the net.

Fulham pulled one back in stoppage time through Emile Smith Rowe, offering a glimpse of what was to come.

Phil Foden restored City’s three-goal cushion shortly after the restart, finishing off a Haaland assist to make it 4–1.

But an own goal from Sander Berge revived Fulham’s hopes, and Alex Iwobi’s strike minutes later cut the deficit to 5–2.

Samuel Chukwueze then seized control of the Fulham fightback, scoring twice in the space of six minutes—first in the 72nd minute and again in the 78th—to drag the game to 4–5 and send the home crowd into a frenzy.

Despite the mounting pressure, City weathered the storm in the closing stages.

Late substitutions and careful game management ensured Pep Guardiola’s side held on to claim all three points from a frantic contest.

The victory keeps Manchester City firmly in the title race, while Fulham will take encouragement from a fearless second-half display that nearly produced one of the season’s most memorable turnarounds.
