Kemi Badenoch Slams Labour Government Over “False Claims” on Peace Deal

Kemi Badenoch

UK Conservative politician Kemi Badenoch has criticised the Labour government for allegedly trying to take credit for a peace agreement it had no role in brokering.

Her comments come after several social media discussions sparked by posts from SE Peace Missions and former U.S. Governor Mike Huckabee Gov Mike Huckabee, both highlighting the controversy around the UK government’s involvement in recent peace efforts.

Badenoch said it was “sad” that the government appeared to be “begging people to send tweets” to boost its image, calling the act “quite tragic.”

She further referenced criticism from the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, who reportedly described the UK’s claim of involvement as “delusional.”

“I think clearly somebody’s asked for a nicer comment to be made,” Badenoch remarked, implying that businessman Steve Witkoff may have been encouraged to make favourable statements about Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

“They should not be trying to claim credit for what they did not do,” she added. “What they should be doing is trying to help, and actually maybe come home and answer some serious questions about the mess that they’ve made here.”

The exchange highlights growing tensions between the opposition Conservatives and the Labour government, as questions mount over the UK’s credibility and foreign policy direction under Starmer’s leadership.
