The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has formally recognised a faction of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reportedly backed by FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike.
The development was reflected on INEC’s official website on Monday, where the electoral body published an updated list of the party’s national leadership.
Among those listed are Abdulrahman Mohammed as National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, alongside other members of the NWC.
Both leaders emerged during the PDP National Convention held on Sunday night at the Velodrome of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The convention saw members of the NWC re-elected through a consensus arrangement following the dissolution of the party’s national caretaker committee.
