Ikeja Electric Announces Planned Four Month Power Outage for Amuwo Transmission Station Upgrade

The works will begin on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and are expected to continue until Thursday, 30 July 2026.

Ikeja Electric has informed its customers of a planned electricity outage due to rehabilitation and maintenance work on the 132kV GIS Substation at the Amuwo Transmission Station. The works will begin on Wednesday, 18 March 2026, at 10:00 a.m. and are expected to continue until Thursday, 30 July 2026.

The utility stated that the project is being carried out in collaboration with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to minimize disruption to customers. The feeders affected by the outage include:

11-AmuwoINJ-T1 – Old Ojo Road

11-AmuwoINJ-T1 – Ijesha Express

11-AmuwoINJ-T2 – Jakande 1

11-AmuwoINJ-T2 – Jakande 2

33-AmuwoTCN – Amukoko

33-AmuwoTCN – Hongxing 1

33-AmuwoTCN – Hongxing 2

According to Ikeja Electric, this critical upgrade aims to strengthen power infrastructure and enhance the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply to customers in the affected areas.

The company apologized for any inconvenience and thanked customers for their patience and cooperation.
