Kano state Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the Kano State Investment Promotion Agency (Kan-Invest), in collaboration with the Kano State Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has called on reputable local and international firms, consortia, and investors with proven competence and experience to submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the development, financing, construction, and operation of Waste-to-Wealth projects aimed at advancing a circular economy in Kano State.
This project is a bold step to implement one key outcome of our waste-to-wealth strategy workshop at the Kano Waste-to-Wealth Investment stakeholder workshop that was convened by Kan-Invest with the theme “Investing in a Circular Economy: Waste to Wealth Opportunities.”
The objective of the program was to prepare a strategy to unlock sustainable investment opportunities in waste management, recycling, etc., while ensuring a cleaner environment.
The initiative seeks to transform waste management challenges in Kano into sustainable economic opportunities which could generate over N500 billion in economic value annually while creating 200,000 direct jobs and significantly reducing environmental degradation.
