Hollywood Icon Rob Reiner and Wife Found Dead at Brentwood Home

Legendary filmmaker and actor Rob Reiner has died at the age of 78 after he and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were discovered dead in their Brentwood residence on Sunday afternoon.

Los Angeles police confirmed that the deaths are being treated as a suspected homicide, with investigators probing reports that the couple suffered fatal stab wounds.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been announced.

In a statement released by the family, they expressed deep grief over the loss, describing the deaths as sudden and devastating, and asked for privacy as they mourn.

Reiner was a towering figure in American film and television, first gaining fame as Michael “Meathead” Stivic on the groundbreaking sitcom All in the Family.

He later built one of Hollywood’s most versatile directing careers, delivering enduring classics such as This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally…, Misery and A Few Good Men.

Beyond his creative achievements, Reiner was also known as a passionate political activist and a co-founder of Castle Rock Entertainment, the production company behind numerous successful films and television projects.

He is survived by his children Jake, Nick and Romy, as well as his adopted daughter, actress Tracy Reiner.
