FMO – Entrepreneurial Development Bank is currently recruiting an Investment Officer – Energy West Africa/MENA to lead debt financing transactions in renewable energy and energy transition sectors across emerging markets.

About the Role
The selected candidate will join the Energy West Africa/MENA team, responsible for sourcing, structuring, executing, and supervising debt-related energy investments across the region.
The Investment Officer will:
- Originate and execute renewable energy debt transactions
- Structure and document complex project finance facilities
- Lead negotiations alongside legal and compliance teams
- Manage client relationships across Africa and MENA
- Develop country and client-level business plans
- Identify viable sponsors and investment opportunities
- Supervise investment portfolios
- Coach Associates within the team
The role requires collaboration with environmental, social, insurance, legal, and compliance specialists to ensure responsible investment execution.

Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- 6–8+ years corporate or project finance experience
- Proven deal structuring and execution track record
- Experience in emerging markets (Africa/MENA preferred)
- Strong financial modeling and documentation experience
- Client relationship management experience
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Professional proficiency in French (strong plus)
