The Federal Government has advised all shortlisted candidates for the ongoing paramilitary recruitment exercise to log in 30 minutes before their scheduled Computer-Based Test (CBT) sessions. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) said this precaution will help avoid last-minute technical hitches and ensure smooth participation.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, the Board’s Secretary, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jibril, said the online CBT phase of the recruitment, which began on Wednesday, would run daily from 9:00 a.m. until next week.
The exercise covers four major paramilitary agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

According to Jibril, only candidates officially scheduled for the day will gain access to the portal. “To access the exam, candidates are to log into the board’s portal at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng at the exact exam window selected during registration,” he said. “They are to complete the photo verification process and remain in the virtual waiting room until the exam begins automatically at the scheduled time.”
He urged all participants to carefully follow the examination rules to avoid disqualification. “The system has been designed to monitor and detect all forms of malpractice, third-party interference, as well as device manipulation,” Jibril added.
Jibril also emphasized that the test is AI-proctored throughout the session, meaning candidates must ensure a stable internet connection, steady power supply, and a suitable device, preferably a laptop. “While mobile phones and tablets may be used, interruptions such as calls or switching applications will trigger violation alerts. Repeated violations will result in automatic failure,” he warned.
Candidates who experience disconnection during the test can rejoin within the allotted time to continue from where they stopped. The CDCFIB began releasing the names of shortlisted candidates on October 30, as the Federal Government continues its drive to strengthen the nation’s paramilitary workforce.
