The FBI’s Slt Lake City Field Office on Friday released video footage of the man suspected of fatally shooting conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.

According to the bureau, investigators also recovered the weapon and ammunition used in the killing in a wooded area near the university. Trace evidence collected from the rooftop included shoe impressions, a forearm imprint, and a palm print, which officials say may help track down the suspect.

“The FBI has released a video and more photos of the shooter in the Utah Valley shooting,” the agency stated in its update shared on X. “Around 12 pm Mountain Time on September 10, 2025, the subject climbed up to a rooftop; after he shot and killed Charlie Kirk, he jumped off and ran away.”

The bureau emphasized that it is working closely with law enforcement partners to seek justice for the murder of Charlie Kirk, a high-profile conservative figure. It urged anyone with information to contact investigators at 1-800-CALL-FBI or visit fbi.gov/utahvalleyshooting.

Kirk, 31, was a major ally of former President Donald Trump and the head of the largest conservative youth movement in the United States. His killing during an event on campus has intensified political tensions and heightened security concerns around high-profile conservative gatherings.

The FBI had earlier released initial images of a person of interest in the case and offered a $100,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killer.

However, the investigation has been clouded by misinformation, as two people misidentified online as suspects told AFP they were terrified by false accusations circulating on social media.

The release of the video marks a new phase in the manhunt, with authorities focusing on tracing the shooter’s movements and analyzing the physical evidence.
