Muslims in the Kingdom will therefore fast for 30 days this year and the Eid prayer will be held 15 minutes after sunrise on Friday.
On Tuesday, the Supreme Court made an official call urging Muslims across Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent moon of Shawwal on Wednesday evening, Ramadan 29, corresponding to March 18, 2026.
The sighting of the Shawwal crescent marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of the week-long Eid Al-Fitr celebration in the Kingdom.
Families have been gearing up for the big occasion with crowds descending on shopping centers to buy new clothing and essentials for the celebrations.
