The Department of State Services (DSS) has dismissed 115 personnel as part of its ongoing internal reforms aimed at strengthening professionalism, accountability, and integrity within the agency.

The Service announced this in a statement released on Tuesday via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, noting that the dismissals occurred over a period of time as part of broader efforts to sanitize its ranks.

“*DSS Dismisses 115 Personnel* As part of the ongoing reforms in the Department of State Services (DSS), the public is hereby informed that a total of 115 personnel have been dismissed over a period. In addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor…” The statement read.

According to the statement, the DSS also cautioned members of the public against dealing with dismissed officers who continue to pose as active operatives.

“In addition to earlier disclaimers on the duo of Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, the Service finds it necessary to warn citizens of the fraudulent activities of some of these persons still posing as DSS personnel,” the statement read.

The DSS further urged Nigerians to always verify the identity of anyone claiming to be its operative before engaging in official dealings. It disclosed that the names of all dismissed personnel have been published on its official website, www.dss.gov.ng, for transparency and public reference.

“For the sake of clarity, the identities of the dismissed personnel have been published on the website of the Service,” it added.

The agency reiterated its earlier warnings about two dismissed officers, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who were reportedly using their former positions to carry out fraudulent acts. Both individuals, the DSS confirmed, have been apprehended and will face prosecution.
