Don Jazzy has introduced CupidSZN as the latest addition to Mavin Records. The announcement came with an emotional twist. The veteran producer revealed that he had unknowingly missed a message from the artist’s father years before, writing, “Four years ago… a father who believed so much in his 17-year-old talented son sent me a DM to listen to his son’s music. Unfortunately, I didn’t see that message as my DMs were clogged.”
He explained that the young artist kept pushing despite the missed opportunity and eventually crossed paths with Mavin. “Two years later, he didn’t give up… he kept developing himself, and destiny still placed him on the path with Mavin. After excelling in the Mavin Academy, he is now 21 years old and ready to take on the next phase of his musical career,” Don Jazzy wrote, unveiling the new act and his debut EP MYTH ERA.
From Port Harcourt to the Mavin Roster
Born Stevenson Njoku Anyinachiso in Port Harcourt, CupidSZN’s music journey began after watching a Juice WRLD video that sparked his artistic drive. He first gravitated toward trap before switching fully to Afrobeats, shaping the sound that now defines his identity.
Skipping university to pursue music full-time, he faced early doubts from his parents, but his persistence shifted their perspective. By 2023, the entire family moved to Lagos to support his growth, a move that strengthened the foundation behind his career.
CupidSZN enters Mavin Records with momentum, having released standout tracks that positioned him as a rising star. His 2024 single Service, produced by Ozedikus and Kamal—gave listeners a taste of his crafted Afrobeats sound.
In 2025, he delivered I Want More, a flirty, melodic track, and teamed up with Wademix on Osogeme, a smooth tune celebrating youthful attraction. With MYTH ERA now rolling out, the 21-year-old steps into a bigger stage under one of Africa’s most influential music labels, marking a new chapter powered by resilience, timing, and undeniable talent.
