He acquired the shares through his CR7 Sports subsidiary, CR7 Sports Investments (a CR7 S.A. subsidiary). This marks a key step in the club’s ongoing growth and the Portuguese businessman’s investment portfolio
Mohamed Al Kheireiji, UD Almería president, said “We’re thrilled Cristiano chose our club to invest. He’s the greatest player in history, knows Spanish football well, and sees the potential we’re building here – both the first team and academy.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Recent Investments
Ronaldo acquired a stake in Wrexham AFC, the historic Welsh football club (co-owned with Ryan Reynolds). Under their stewardship, Wrexham has driven new commercial deals and media attention. In addition, they have brought higher valuations, demonstrating a unique sports investment strategy. This strategy blends community growth with brand monetization.
Ronaldo has also expanded his CR7 brand into lifestyle and wellness, including gyms, fragrance lines, underwear, and more. The CR7-branded gyms across Europe and the Middle East have become a growing franchise concept. This is tied to his global brand recognition.
The CR7 Hotel chain, developed in collaboration with local investors and brands like Pestana Hotel Group, operates themed properties aimed at lifestyle travelers in key European cities. He has also been reported to make angel and venture investments in tech startups, particularly in Europe, fintech, and digital platforms. In select cases, these are linked to strategic partnerships (e.g., digital fan engagement apps, fitness tech).
Ronaldo holds significant real estate holdings in Portugal, Spain, and elsewhere. These include luxury residences, investment properties, and potentially tokenized assets tied to art or digital collectibles.
