CIG Motors Co., Ltd has announced an opening for the position of Head of Human Resources, offering an exciting opportunity for experienced HR professionals to play a strategic leadership role within its Lagos business unit.
The role is designed for a forward-thinking HR executive who can align people strategy with business objectives while fostering a high-performance, innovative, and accountable workplace culture. The successful candidate will join the company’s leadership team and provide enterprise-level oversight of all human capital initiatives within the business unit.
Strategic Role at the Heart of the Business
As Head of Human Resources, the appointee will be responsible for shaping and executing a comprehensive people strategy that supports CIG Motors’ long-term growth plans. This includes organizational design, workforce planning, leadership succession, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior management on people-related risks and opportunities.
The role places strong emphasis on culture and change leadership, requiring the HR head to drive initiatives that promote agility, accountability, and sustained performance, especially during periods of expansion or restructuring.
Governance, Talent, and Performance Focus
The position also carries responsibility for HR governance, compliance, and risk management. This includes implementing policies aligned with Nigerian labour laws and corporate standards, managing employee relations, and ensuring ethical practices across the business unit.
On the talent side, the Head of HR will oversee recruitment, employer branding, and retention strategies, while building capability frameworks that support digital transformation and cross-functional collaboration. Compensation, performance management, and reward systems will be designed to directly drive business outcomes and maintain market competitiveness.
Digital HR and People Analytics
CIG Motors is also seeking an HR leader with strong experience in HR technology and analytics. The role involves driving digital HR initiatives, automating HR processes, and using people data to guide decisions around engagement, productivity, and workforce trends.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates are expected to have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- A Master’s degree or MBA (preferred)
- At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership role
- Proven experience partnering with executive leadership teams
- Professional HR certifications such as CIPD, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR (an advantage)
