BUA Foods Plc crossed the ₦11 trillion market capitalisation mark on Monday after its share price surged 6.73% to ₦629.7, reinforcing its lead as the most valuable stock on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). The company’s market value closed at ₦11.3 trillion, cementing its dominance in Nigeria’s equity market.

This milestone follows its August 7, 2025, leap over MTN Nigeria to become the NGX’s largest company by market value. MTN now ranks second at ₦9.13 trillion, while Airtel Africa and Dangote Cement follow closely with ₦8.68 trillion and ₦8.63 trillion respectively, with sister firm BUA Cement valued at ₦5.14 trillion ($3.42 billion).

The stock has enjoyed a stellar run this year, beginning 2025 at ₦415 and posting a 51.7% year-to-date gain, ranking 83rd on the NGX in performance.

Over the past four weeks alone, it added 7%, making it the 26th-best performer on the exchange.

Between June 17 and September 15, BUA Foods ranked 105th in trading activity with 16.7 million shares exchanged in 18,152 deals worth ₦7.94 billion ($5.29 million). On average, 265,775 shares traded per session, reflecting consistent investor demand.

Investor confidence is fueled by strong earnings, as the company doubled its half-year profit year-on-year to ₦276.1 billion. Revenue climbed 36% to ₦912.5 billion , supported by robust performance across its sugar, flour, pasta, rice, and edible oils segments.
