The development also coincided with the apparent deletion of Spears’ Instagram account as news of the arrest began circulating online.
Spears remains one of the most influential pop stars of the modern era, with chart-topping hits including Toxic, Everytime, Gimme More, Womanizer, Stronger, and …Baby One More Time. Her last musical release was a duet with Elton John in 2022.
In January 2024, Spears announced she would not return to the music industry.
The singer’s life has been closely scrutinized since the end of a controversial 13-year conservatorship that placed her personal and financial decisions under the control of her father. That legal arrangement ended in 2021 after a high-profile public campaign.
